Most state and conference championship events scheduled for Saturday have been postponed due to the impending storm.
The Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference track and field championship meet, originally scheduled for 9 a.m., Saturday at Bowdoin College, has been moved to a 4:30 p.m. start time. Brunswick athletic director Gene Keene said he would make a decision on whether to hold the event by 2 p.m., Saturday. If the event is not held Saturday, it will not be made up.
The state cheerleading and wrestling championships were moved to different dates. The state cheerleading will now be Monday at the Bangor Auditorium. Classes C and D will compete beginning at 4:30 p.m., followed by Classes A and B, at 6:30 p.m.
The state wrestling championships have been moved to next Saturday, Feb. 16. The Class A meet will be at Sanford High School, Class B is at Fryeburg Academy, and Class C is at Foxcroft Academy. Each meet will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The KVAC swim meets have been moved to Monday. the KVAC A meet will begin at 1 p.m., at the Bath YMCA, followed by the KVAC B meet.
The KVAC/MVC skiing championships have also been moved to Monday. The Alpine slalom event will start at 9 a.m. and the Nordic Classical will start at 2 p.m.
