GARDINER — Seth McFarland hit a 3-pointer as time expired and the Gardiner Area High School boys basketball team earned a key Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B win over Oceanside 56-55 on Saturday.

Tyler Jamison scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Gardiner, which improves to 4-8. Trevor Austin chipped in 10 points, while Dennis Meehan had six points, four assists and four steals.

Sam Mecklin had 16 points, Shea Davenport 14 and Isaiah Stone-Patterson 13 for Oceanside (9-3).

Hall-Dale 42, Telstar 39: Michael Woods had 14 points as the Bulldogs won in Farmingdale.

Harry Cheung added eight points for Hall-Dale (7-5).

Spruce Mountain 67, Oak Hill 39: Scott Hall led four players in double figures with 14 points to lead the Phoenix to the Western B victory in Wales.

Derek Gamage had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Raiders (5-8).

Monmouth 76, Carrabec 46: The Mustangs jumped out to a 14-0 lead and cruised to a win in North Anson.

Devin West and Drew McFarren each scored 15 points for Monmouth (5-7). Brandon Goff chipped in 14.

Winchendon 84, Kents Hill 39: Malcolm Smith scored 16 points as Winchendon won in Kents Hill.

Eli Roberts had 11 points to lead the Huskies (4-6).

Oceanside 55, Gardiner 53: The Mariners rallied in the fourth quarter with 18 points and beat the Tigers in a KVAC B game.

Hannah Plourde and Brooke Dugan each had 15 points and Kennadi Grover 14 for Oceanside (11-1).

Ally Day had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Gardiner (8-4).

Hyde 40, Kents Hill 20: The Phoenix led by three points as the half, but pulled away to beat the Huskies in Kents Hill.

Boys hockey

Bangor 3, Cony 1: Zach Papsadora had a goal and an assist to lift Bangor in a game called after two period because of unplayable ice, at the Bank of Maine Ice Vault in Hallowell.

Dallas Clark scored an unassisted goal to give Cony (6-3-1) a 1-0 lead. Parker Sanderson tied it with 22 seconds left in the period and Papsadora scored the game-winner 48 seconds into the second period for Bangor (8-1-0). Alec Coleman-Pray added an insurance goal for Bangor. Tom Small had 28 for Cony.

Messalonskee 8, Winslow 3: Chase Cunningham had three goals and three assists to lead the Eagles to the Eastern B victory at Sukee Arena.

Jared Cunningham scored two goals and four assists for Messalonskee (9-1-0).

Josh Towle added a pair of goals for the Eagles.

Skiing

Maranacook Wave Race: Sadie James won the girls race to held Gould Academy to the girls team title at the Maranacook Wave Race at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center.

James, a former Mt. Abram skier, finished in a time of 16:36.8. Sarah Wade of Mt. Blue finished third in a time of 17:40.7 as the Cougars finished fifth. Maranacook finished fourth behind a sixth-place finish by Aylssa Andrews.

Dustin Ramsey of Hampden Academy won the boys title in a time of 13:53.3. Gould, behind a sixth-place finish by Marcello Deluca, won the boys overall title.

Monmouth Academy’s Dylan Thombs was eighth with a time of 14:44.0.
