The Hawks (4-2-1) entered the season with one of the top lines in Eastern A -- Dan Condon, Matt Plourde and Jared Hanson, who have combined to score 47 points through seven games.

• MHW forward Jared Hanson scored the game-winning goal in a 5-4 overtime win over Waterville.
• MHW forward Matt Plourde had a goal and three assists against Waterville.
• Messalonskee forward Chase Cunningham had two hat tricks — one in a 4-0 victory over Orono and another in a 7-6 win over Brewer.
• Messalonskee forward Jared Cunningham had two goals and four assists in the two games.

However, MHW coach Andy Dube said it is important for his other lines to produce.

"We're capitalizing more on our opportunities," Dube said. "A lot of other players are stepping up, which is nice to see."

Nick Lacasse and Bailey Clark have each scored key goals in recent wins over Waterville and Yarmouth.

"We'd like to see it continue," Dube added. "Hopefully, they can keep it up because we need them. We have some big games coming up."

Waterville (2-5-0) squandered an opportunity to pick up a key Eastern A victory last Thursday when it lost 5-4 in overtime to MHW. The Panthers led 3-0 and 4-1 in that game.

"We have to regroup because the tough ones are coming now," Waterville coach Dennis Martin said.

Tough ones, indeed.

Waterville begins a grueling five-game stretch Thursday at Cony (4-2-0) at the Bank of Maine Ice Vault. From there, the Panthers will face St. Dominic (1-3-1), Lewiston (4-2-1), Bangor (6-1-0) and defending Eastern B champ Messalonskee (8-0-0).

"We have to take care of what we can do," Martin said. "We have to bounce back. We're still hanging in there. There are plenty of (Heal) point-worthy games left."
