AUGUSTA — Andrew Pullen scored a game-high 26 points to lead the University of Maine at Augusta past the University of Maine at Machias 94-85 in a Yankee Small College Conference men’s basketball game Sunday.

Pullen, a Cony graduate, also had 10 rebounds. Another Cony graduate, Walker Cooper, added 24 points and eight rebounds for the Moose (5-7, 4-4) while Lawrence grad Keith Chesley added 15 point and 10 rebounds. Joseph Nguyen was also in double figures with 18 points.

AC Ford scored 22 points to lead four players from UMM (4-5, 2-2) in double figures. Floyd Higgins added 19 while Elias Gutierrez and Brian Getchell each scored 15.

Florida State 91, Maine 59: Michael Snaer scored 19 points and freshman Aaron Thomas had a career-high 15 points as Florida State routed Maine.

Terry Whisnant had 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting and Okaro White scored 13 for Florida State (5-4), which snapped a three-game losing streak.

Justin Edwards had 19 points and 12 rebounds and Dimitry Akanda-Coronel had 11 points for Maine (3-6), which shot just 33.9 percent (21 of 62) and had 19 turnovers.

Women’s basketball

UM-Machias 81, UM-Augusta 56: Jamyria McPherson scored 22 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the University of Maine at Machias to the YSCC win.

Samira Cruz added 19 points for UMM (5-3, 3-1) while Kay Parks had 18 and Yvanessa Vincent 11.

The Moose (6-5, 4-3) were led by Cony graduate Allyssa Marson with 25 points and Arreonte Lee with 11.
