Basketball, hockey and wrestling are all on the schedule this weekend as local teams start their winter seasons.

On Saturday, Sukee Arena in Winslow hosts the Turkey Tournament 2012, with almost 12 hours of high school hockey. Messalonskee and Hampden start things off at 9:10 a.m., and Winslow will take on Messalonskee and Skowhegan in the final two games of the evening. Cony faces Lawrence at 10:40 a.m. and Hampden at 12:10 p.m. The Lawrence alumni game is at 2 p.m., followed by the Bulldogs taking on Skowhegan at 4:10 p.m.

The G&E Roofing Chrisanne Burns Tournament, an annual basketball tradition at Cony High School, begins tonight with a women’s alumni game at 6 and a men’s alumni game at 7.

The tournament continues Saturday with boys and girls action and Cony is the only local team. The girls side includes Boothbay, Hampden, Cheverus and Waynflete, while Dirigo and Oceanside join Cony on the boys side. The Cony girls play Boothbay at noon and Waynflete at 6:30 p.m., while the Ram boys face Oceanside at 10:30 a.m. and Dirigo at 5 p.m. There will be a presentation involving the Burns family at 4:30 p.m.

Also Saturday, the Lawrence girls will host the Bulldog Classic Tourney. This tournament includes Lawrence, Camden Hills, Maine Central Institute, Messalonskee, Nokomis and Oceanside. Messalonskee and Nokomis start things off at 8:30 a.m., and the final game of the day is at 5:30 p.m., with Lawrence facing Oceanside.

Many of the same schools are sending their wrestling teams to the Brewer duals on Saturday. Brewer will be joined by Camden Hills, MCI, Nokomis, Piscatiquis and Skowhegan.
