HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Orewiler hits late 3-pointer to lift Tigers

GARDINER -- Jensen Orewiler hit a 3-pointer with 4.6 seconds left to give Gardiner a 56-53 win over Mt. View in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B boys basketball game Tuesday night.

Orewiler finished with 10 points for Gardiner, which improves to 3-1. Tyler Jamison led the Tigers with 17 points and nine rebounds and Seth McFarland added 13. Dennis Meehan chipped in with eight points, five rebounds and three steals.

Jack Simpson and Nate Wren both had 13 points for Mt. View (1-3). Steven Davis added 11 points.

Lewiston 69, Cony 39: Abdi Hussein had 16 points as the Blue Devils beat the Rams in a KVAC A game in Lewiston.

Steve Patrie added nine points for Lewiston (3-1).

Ben Lucas scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Cony (1-3).

Edward Little 77, Erskine 57: The Eddies outscored the Eagles 42-29 in the second half on their way to the KVAC A win in Auburn.

Sean Ford scored 18 points to lead Edward Little (4-0) while Nate Alexander added 13.

Devin Duncan led all scorers with 28 points for Erskine (0-4).Caleb McGuire chipped in with 15 while Jared Gartley had 10.

Monmouth 44, Winthrop 40: Brandon Goff scored 12 points and Kasey Smith added nine to lead the Mustangs to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Monmouth.

Drew McFaren chipped in with eight points for Monmouth (3-1).

Hunter Kilgore scored 15 points to lead the Ramblers (2-3).

Boothbay 61, Oak Hill 49: Anthony DiMauro scored 14 points and John Hepburn added 13 to lead Boothbay in Wales.

Joseph DiMauro added 11 points for Boothbay (5-0), which led just 8-7 after the first quarter.

Trevor Samson scored a team-high 10 points and Parker Asselin added nine to pace the Raiders, who were 7 for 20 at the foul line.
