COLLEGE ROUNDUP: Lee, Marson spark UMA

AUGUSTA -- Arreonte Lee and Cony graduate Allyssa Marson each scored 22 points to lead the University of Maine at Augusta over Unity College 68-42 in Yankee Small College Conference women's basketball action Wednesday.

Winslow graduate Haley Madore added eight points for UMA (4-4, 3-2) while Mt. Blue graduate Corinne Dingley chipped in with five. Marson also had nine assists.

Candace Robinson scored 14 points for lead Unity (0-6, 0-6) while Rangeley graduate Sierra Marchacos added seven points.

Bates 63, UM-Farmington 39: Taryn O'Connell scored 18 points to lead Bates to the non-conference win in Lewiston.

Allie Beaulieu added 13 points for Bates (2-3) while Allaina Murphy scored 10.

The Beavers (0-4) were led by Ayla Allen with 10 points.

Men's basketball

UMA 82, Unity 66: Cony graduate Walker Cooper and Lawrence graduate Keith Chesley each scored 16 points to lead the host Moose to the YSCC win in Augusta.

Joseph Nguyen added 14 points for UMA (3-6, 2-4) while Andrew Pullen, another Cony graduate, added 13 points. Arron Cochran chipped in with 10 assists.

Unity (0-7, 0-7) was led by Jared Straight with a game-high 21 points. John Crowe (18 points), Eddie Kopacz (15) and Jacob Scoville (10_ were also in double figures.

Maine 76, Northeastern 73: Justin Edwards scored a career-high 30 points to lead the Black Bears to the win in Boston.

Alasdair Fraser added 20 points for the Black Bears (2-4) while Jon Mesghna chipped in with nine.

Northeastern (4-3) was led by Joel Smith with 19 points and Quincy Ford with 14.
