GARDINER — Zack Lachance earned a pitching victory and hit a home run as The Red Barn swept Gardiner 1-0 and 10-5 in American Legion Zone 2 baseball action Saturday afternoon.
With the two wins, The Red Barn clinches first place and advances directly to the Zone tournament July 20-22. Lachance earned the win in Game 1, allowing four hits while striking out 10 and walking one. Jory Humphrey led the offense with two singles. Nic Berube took the loss for Gardiner
In Game 2, Lachance and Sean Cabaniss each homered for The Red Barn. Humphrey added two singles.
For Gardiner, Kyle Fletcher had two singles.
Junior Legion
Fairfield Post 14 6, Standish Post 128 2: Matt Champney hit a triple and Cody Lyons hit three singles to lead Fairfield Post 14 to a victory over Standish Post 128 in junior legion.
Cody Martin added two singles for Post 14 (14-1).
Dana McKay had a double and two singles for Post 128 (7-8).
Fairfield Post 14 8, Gorham 5: Joel Leclair had a double and two RBIs to lead Fairfield Post 14 to a win over Gorham.
Spencer Folsom added a double for Post 14 (15-1).
Jack Chapman had two singles for Gorham (10-5).
