GARDINER -- Tyler Jamison had 17 points, 12 rebounds and four steals to lead defending Eastern B champion Gardiner to a 51-45 win over Morse in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B boys basketball action Friday.
Jenson Orwiler had all 10 of his points in the fourth period as the Tigers (1-0) outscored the Shipbuilders 23-9 to earn the win. Jamison scored eight in the quarter. Freshman Seth McFarland chipped in with eight.
Morse (0-1) was led by Ethan Winglass with 15 points and Matt Munster with 12.
Greenville 41, Richmond 25: Matt D'Angelo scored 11 points and Trevor Richards added 10 to lead the visiting Lakers to the East/West Conference win.
Henry Hersey and Tristan Richards each scored seven points for Greenville (1-0).
Randy Moody led Richmond (0-1) with six points while Cameron Emmons added five.
Messalonskee 55, Erskine 44: Nick Mayo scored eight of his 11 points in the fourth quarter to help Messalonskee pull away with the KVAC A win in South China.
Erskine struggled at the free throw line, making just 6 of 16 foul shots, including just 2 of 8 in the fourth quarter. Messalonskee went 8 for 10 from the line.
Jordan Holmes led Messalonskee with 19 points while Aaron Gagne added 11 points.
Caleb McGuire had 13 points and eight rebounds for Erskine.
