HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Hurley's 3-pointers spark Bobcats to victory

BINGHAM -- Danica Hurley scored 15 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Richmond past Valley 53-24 in East-West Conference girls basketball action Tuesday.

Payton Johnson added 11 points for Richmond (14-1).

Teagan Laweryson and Hali McQuilkin each scored eight points for Valley (4-12).

Madison 47, Monmouth 22: Sam Bruce scored 11 points as the Bulldogs won the Mountain Valley Conference game in Monmouth.

Kristen Wood added 10 points for Madison (12-3).

Molly Menice had 10 points for Monmouth (7-9).

Messalonskee 50, Brewer 47: Megan Pelletier scored 13 of her 27 points in the fourth quarter as the Eagles came from behind to win the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game in Brewer.

Messalonskee (11-4) trailed 39-32 entering the fourth quarter. Pelletier also finished with 13 rebounds and four steals. Mary Badeen added nine points, 11 rebounds and five assists. In the fourth quarter, Badeen had two key steals and Kassi Michaud made a clutch 3-pointer.

Lindsay Houp scored 20 points for Brewer (7-8).

Cony 64, Lewiston 42: Mia Diplock scored 21 points to lead the Rams to the KVAC A win in Augusta.

Emily Sanford added 13 points for Cony (15-0) while Jose Lee chipped in with nine points, 14 rebounds, six assists and five steals.

Lewiston was led by Jannessa Talarico with 11 points and Brie Wilson with 10.

Boys basketball

Maranacook 68, Belfast 36: Kyle Boucher scored 18 points as the Black Bears cruised to a win in a KVAC B game in Readfield.

Seth Miller added 10 points for Maranacook, which improves to 7-8.

Tyler Prescott had eight points for Belfast (1-15).

Brewer 60, Messalonskee 49: Brendan Newcomb scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Witches to the KVAC A win in Oakland. Ian Burgess added 15 points for Brewer while Yuhi Sasaki chipped in with 13.

Messalonskee (1-14) was led by Gage Landry with 13 points and Travis Stacey with 11.

Edward Little 48, Erskine 37: Omar Haji-Hersi scored 16 points to lead the Eddies to the KVAC A win in South China. Quinn Leary added 11 points for Edward Little (10-5).

Devin Duncan scored a game-high 18 points, including four 3-pointers, for Erskine (6-9).

Valley 51, Richmond 32: Carrington Miller had 22 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to lead the Cavaliers to the East-West Conference win in Bingham.

Dylan Belanger added 10 points and seven rebounds for Valley (12-4).

Ben Carver and Sean Bernier each scored 10 points for Richmond (4-10).

Lewiston 67, Cony 40: The host Blue Devils jumped out to a 35-13 halftime lead on their way to the KVAC A win. Corbin Hyde and Donne Agossou each scored 14 points to lead Lewiston (12-3).

Walker Cooper scored 12 points to lead Cony (5-10) while Zack Lachance chipped in with nine.
