SOUTH CHINA — The Erskine Academy baseball team rallied for two runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to edge Mt. Ararat 4-3 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Monday afternoon.

John Suga singled and came around to score the game-tying run on a single by Josh Bailey and an overthrow. Shawn Soucie then followed with a single up the middle to plate Bailey with the winning run for Erskine (4-7).

Soucie pitched five innings in relief of Nick Gayer to earn the victory.

Mt. Ararat dropped to 3-8.

Winthrop 6, Oak Hill 4: The Ramblers used a balanced attack with four different players getting two hits each and went on to a Mountain Valley Conference win in Winthrop.

Drew Stratton, Zach Steele, Ben Allen and Dakota Carter had two singles apiece for the Ramblers (8-1). Jared Hanson earned the win, running his record to 3-0.

Dalton Therrien had two singles for Oak Hill (4-5).

Richmond 5-8, Greenville 1-11: Mike Stewart pitched a complete game, striking out eight and walking just one, to lead the Bobcats in the opener of a doubleheader split in Richmond.

Tristan Richards, Howie Stone and Matt D’Angelo each had two hits to lead the Lakers (3-6) in Game 2.

Tyler Soucy had two hits to lead Richmond (4-3).

Hall-Dale 10, Lisbon 2: Colin Rush and Nat Crocker each drove in a pair of runs to lead the Bolldogs to the MVC win in Farmingdale. Lush went 3 for 4 while Crocker had a pair of hits.

Brian Allen went 2 for 4 with a double for Hall-Dale (4-5).

Lisbon dropped to 5-7.

Monmouth 12, Wiscasset 6: Nate Gagne came on in relief in the first inning, allowing three hits and no runs while striking out seven and walking one as the host Mustangs earned the MVC win.

Devin West had two singles and two RBIs for Monmouth (8-2) while DJ McHugh added a three run double. Billy Cummings chipped in with a single and two doubles and Alex Curtis added two singles and an RBI.

Wiscasset (3-6) was led by Zach Ellison with a double and a single and Darin Wood and Dylan McMahon with two singles apiece.

Cony 16, Brunswick 6: The Rams jumped to an early lead and coasted to the KVAC A win in Brunswick. Mitchell Caron pitched five innings for the win in his first varsity start while Tyler Tardiff and Chandler Shostak each singled and doubled. Reid Shostak, Caron and Charlie Hallak had two hits apiece for Cony (8-2). Ryan Maciejewski singled and tripled for Brunswick (3-7).
