HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Erskine earns shutout over Lawrence

SOUTH CHINA -- Jade Canak scored a pair of goals as the Erskine Academy girls soccer team beat Lawrence 2-0 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Tuesday.

Rebecca Reed and Emma Wilkinson each had an assist for Erskine (4-3-1), which scored a goal in each half. Paige Leary made nine saves to earn the win.

Ashley Yahnel had five saves for Lawrence (5-3-1).

Cony 2, Brewer 0: Emily Quirion scored both goals to lead the Rams past the Witches in Augusta.

Both of Quirion's goals were assisted by Josie Lee. Quirion had a goal in the first half and then one in the second half to secure the win for Cony (4-5).

Autumn Sudsbury had four saves to gain the shutout for the Rams.

Glory Watson had 14 saves for Brewer (0-9).

Brunswick 7, Messalonskee 1: Anna Cowan scored three goals to lead Brunswick (9-0) over Messalonskee (0-9) at Oakland.

Paige Tetu added a pair of goals for the Dragons, and Rachel Moroney and Lyse Henshaw also scored.

Haley Murano had one save for Brunswick. Shawn Oliver stopped six shots for Messalonskee.

Boys soccer

Winthrop 3, Oak Hill 2: Dalton Cummins scored with 15 minutes left to give the host Ramblers the Mountain Valley Conference win. Jake Valle and Justin Lapointe gave Winthrop a 2-0 lead at the half but the Raiders came back to tie the game on goals by Dalton Burns and Cole Grenier. In addition to his goal, Valle had two assists.

Kyle Fields made 15 saves for Oak Hill (2-7-1) while Matt Sekerak stopped 15 shots for Winthrop (3-5-1).

Hall-Dale 7, Spruce Mountain 0: Colin Lush had two goals and four assists as the Bulldogs cruised to their ninth win of the season, in Farmingdale.

Spencer Shagoury added two goals for Hall-Dale, which remains unbeaten at 9-0-0. Tyler Fitzgerald, Nat Crocker and Zack McNaughton each added a goal, while Sam Shepherd had two saves.

Dustin Jones had seven saves for Spruce Mountain (5-4-1).

Brunswick 3, Messalonskee 0: Konnor Scarpone scored two goals to lead the Dragons past the Eagles in a KVAC A contest in Brunswick.

Ryan Black also scored for Brunswick (6-2-1). Dragons goalie Greg Walton made eight saves.

Jonah Webb had five saves for Messalonskee (4-3-2).

Field hockey

Lewiston 3, Cony 2, OT: Jesessa Galarico scored her second goal of the game with 15 seconds left in overtime as the Blue Devils beat the Rams in a KVAC A game in Lewiston.

Jenna Harwood scored from Aarika Brochu with 3:37 left in the first half to give Cony (2-6-1) a 1-0 lead. Galarico tied it with 15 seconds left in the half and Desirea Roy scored in the second half to give Lewiston (7-3-0) the lead. Brochu scored Abby Naborowsky to tie the game with 6:19 left in regulation.

Kevie Rodrigue had 18 saves for Cony, while Emma Burgess had 11 saves for Lewiston.

Messalonskee 10, Oxford Hills 0: Kristy Bernatchez had three goals and two assists as the Eagles beat the Vikings in a KVAC A game in South Paris.

Lynae Luettich also scored three goals for Messalonskee (8-1-0). Sydney Gagne, Mikayla Turner, Kylee Knight and Brooke Quirion each chipped in a goal, while Nikki Collier had two assists and Emily York one. Abby Roberts stopped three shots for the Eagles.

Shannon Fillebrown had 27 saves for Oxford Hills (1-7-1).

Waterville 2, Maranacook 1: Sage Duguay scored in the first half and Bri Bernier in the second half as the Panthers beat the Black Bears in a KVAC B game in Readfield.

Gaby Bridger added an assist for Waterville (6-4-0).

Lindsay Jackson had the goal for Maranacook (2-7-0).

Winslow 5, Erskine 0: Alli Leclair had two goals and an assist as the Black Raiders cruised to a KVAC B win in Winslow.

Jenn Poulin added a goal and an assist for Winslow (8-2-0), while Mackenzie Winslow and Sierra Joler each had a goal and Bethany Lincoln had two assists. Alexis Lachance made one save to earn the win.

Kelby Leary had 13 saves for Erskine (1-8-0).

Oceanside 3, Gardiner 2: Hannah Miller scored the game-winning goal with 3:30 left in the second half as the Mariners beat the Tigers in a KVAC B game in Rockland.

Nickyia Lovely scored twice in the second half as Gardiner (7-2-0) took a 2-1 lead. Madeline Reny added an assist and Emalee Couture had 10 saves for the Tigers.

Jackie Thorionson had a goal and an assist for Oceanside (6-2-1). Isabella Glover also had an assist.
