FAIRFIELD — Chase Duguay earned the win and had a pair of singles as Central Maine beat Apple Valley 12-4 in the 14-year-old Babe Ruth All-Star state tournament Saturday.

Connor Garland led the offense with two doubles and two singles for Central Maine while Brandon Nale added a double and a single.

Julian Kirovac hit a home run for Apple Valley, which plays Augusta at 10 a.m. today in an elimination game. Tom Small and Chad Morin each singled for Apple Valley.

Central Maine will play the winner of this morning’s Apple Valley-Augusta game at 2 p.m. today for the championship with an if necessary game to follow.

Augusta 13, Portland 5: Justin Rodrigue picked up the pitching win and also had two singles as Augusta earned the win at Keyes Field in Fairfield.

Andrew Browne added a double and a single for Augusta while Mark Buzzell chipped in with two singles. Augusta will play Apple Valley at 10 a.m. today in an elimination game.

13-year-old Babe Ruth state tournament

Auburn 9, Augusta 4: Caleb Hebert had three singles and an RBI and picked up the win to lead Auburn to the championship game in Augusta.

Gavin Bates added a double and a single for Auburn, which will play Central Maine at 2:30 p.m. at McGuire Field for the championship with an if necessary game to follow. Mason Bruschwein added a single and two RBIs.

Nick Pooler, Michael Levesque, Cody Taylor and Noah Bonsant each had an RBI single for Augusta.

Junior legion

Post 14 8, Smith & Tobey Bath 2: Cole Robinson struck out eight to lead Post 14 to the regular-season ending victory in Fairfield.

Evan Grard had a double, a single and two RBIs for Post 14 (16-2) while Spencer Folsom had two singles and an RBI and Matt Champney a single and two RBIs. Joe Leclair added a triple. Post 14 is the top seed in the upcoming tournament will start a best of three series on Saturday.

Kris Carter had a double and RBI for Smith & Tobey.
