LOCAL ROUNDUP: Allen lifts Winthrop to victory

WINTHROP -- Ben Allen had 16 points and five steals to lead the Winthrop High School boys basketball team past Lisbon 63-39 in a Mountain Valley Conference game Monday night.

Taylor Morang added 15 points and six rebounds for the Ramblers (1-1). Dakota Carter had six points and 10 rebounds.

Tucker Brennan scored nine points to lead the Greyhounds (1-1).

Hall-Dale 68, Wiscasset 55: Michael Woods scored 22 points and Zac Plummer added 13 to lead the Bulldogs to the MVC win in Wiscasset.

Bryson Camp and Sam Shepherd each scored 10 points for Hall-Dale (2-0).

Dylan McMahon led the Wolverines (1-1) with 15 rebounds and 10 points.

Boothbay 66, Monmouth 33: Anthony DiMauro scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Seahawks to the MVC win in Boothbay Harbor.

Boothbay jumped to a 19-5 lead in the first quarter and were never threatened after that. Marques Houston led Monmouth (0-1) with 16 points. Boothbay is 2-0.

Girls basketball

Hyde 40, Kents Hill 30: Kara Fischer scored a game-high 14 points and Diamond Brown added nine to lead the Phoenix in Bath.

Chloe Blaylock chipped in with six points for Hyde (2-0). Kents Hill is 1-1.

Women's basketball

UMA 59, Unity 34: In Augusta, Arreonte Lee scored 29 points, grabbed seven rebounds, made eight steals and blocked three shots to lead the Moose to the Yankee Small College Conference win.

Maegan Cloutier added 11 points for the winners while Allyssa marson had five steals, six assists and five rebounds. UMA is 7-5, Unity is 0-8.

Bryant 42, Maine 40: Naana Ankoma-Mensa scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Bulldogs in Smithfield, R.I.

She also finished with two steals, a block and an assist.

Breanna Rucker scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds for Bryant (4-4).

Milica Mitrovic scored 12 points to lead Maine (1-9).
