READFIELD — Taylor Wilbur scored 34 points, including six 3-pointers, as the Maranacook Community School boys basketball team beat Lincoln Academy 93-77 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Friday.

Cam Brochu added 23 points and Kent Mohlar chipped in with 11 for the Black Bears (4-2).

Devin Scherer had 15 points, A.J. Oliver 12 and Seward McTel 11 for Lincoln.

MESSALONSKEE 69, BANGOR 67: Jordon Holmes made a layup with under 30 seconds remaining to lift the Eagles in a KVAC A win in Oakland.

Holmes finished with 23 points and five assists for Messalonskee, which improves to 4-1. Nick Mayo added 14 points and 18 rebounds for the Eagles, while Justin Carson had 10 points.

Xavier Lewis had 23 points, including 12 from the free-throw line, for Bangor (3-2). Alex Campbell added 14 points and Garrett Johnson 11. Connor Adams also had 10.

OCEANSIDE 84, GARDINER 63: Nick Judge scored 29 points to lead the Mariners to the KVAC B win in Rockland.

Hunter Grindle added 18 points for Oceanside (6-1) while teammates Isaiah Stone-Patterson and David Gould scored 13 points apiece.

Seth McFarland led Gardiner (2-3) with 18 points while Brad Weston added 17 points, five rebounds and three steals. Josh McKelvey scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Tigers while Alex LaPointe recorded four steals and four assists.

Girls basketball

GARDINER 68, OCEANSIDE 64: Ally Day scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Tigers to the KVAC B win in Rockland.

The Tigers held off a Mariners rally in the fourth quarter thanks to Day, who went 8-for-8 from the foul line over the final eight minutes. Savannah Vinton-Mullens added 12 points for Gardiner (4-1) while Abby Dunn scored eight. Emily Gould matched Day with 20 points for Oceanside (4-3) while teammates Brooke Dugan and Makenna Brooks scored 13 points apiece.

Messalonskee 43, Bangor 39: Sophie Holmes had 15 points and four rebounds as the Eagles won a KVAC A game in Bangor.

Mikayla Turner added 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals for Messalonskee (4-2).

Katie Butler had 12 points and Mary Butler 10 for Bangor (2-3).

Boys hockey

CONY 6, MT. ARARAT 3: Anthony Brunelle scored a hat trick and added an assist to lead the Rams to the Class A win at Bowdoin College.

Dakota Benson, Spencer Buck and Cameron Wilson also scored for Cony while Buck and Austin Davis contributed two assists apiece. Tom Small made 12 saves in goal for Cony (4-1-0) while Kyle Wlech made 32 for Mt. Ararat (3-2-0).
