LOCAL ROUNDUP: Maranacook girls top Leavitt

Miller has 20 points, 10 rebounds in win

TURNER — Christine Miller had 20 points, 10 rebounds, five steals, three assists and three blocks as Maranacook defeated Leavitt 52-23 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B girls basketball game Friday.

Sarah Clough added 11 points, including three 3-pointers, for Maranacook (8-5).

Chantel Eells had nine points for Leavitt (6-6).

VINALHAVEN 50, RICHMOND 41: Ashley Hamilton scored 17 points to lead the Vikings to an East/West win in Vinalhaven.

Bailey Wadleigh added 13 points for Vinalhaven (7-5).

Haley Murphy and Meranda Martin each scored 12 points for Richmond (4-8). Morgan Harrington added six points.

LAWRENCE 48, CONY 31: Paige Belanger had 24 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to the KVAC A win in Fairfield.

Nia Irving added nine points and 15 rebounds for Lawrence (11-1).

Cony (8-5) was led by Bayleigh Logan with 10 points and Abby Wormel with eight.

MORSE 37, GARDINER 33: Signe Ostergaard scored a game-high 15 points and Emma Harrington added seven points to lead the Shipbuilders to the KVAC B victory in Bath.

Lia Graves also scored seven points for Morse (4-9).

Ally Day scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds —both team highs — for the Tigers (6-5).

BOYS BASKETBALL

MONMOUTH 57, MADISON 35: Brandon Goff and Marcques Houston each had 12 points as the Mustangs won the Mountain Valley Conference game in Monmouth.

Hunter Richardson added eight points Monmouth (7-5).

Chase Malloy had eight points for Madison (5-7).

MORSE 58, GARDINER 50: Ethan Winglass scored 21 points and the Shipbuilders won a KVAC B game in Gardiner.

Keegan McDonough added 13 points for Morse (10-3).

Seth McFarland had 20 points, six rebounds and six assists for Gardiner (6-5). Brad Weston added 16 points for the Tigers.

OXFORD HILLS 40, MESSALONSKEE 34: Luke Davison had 14 points and five steals as the Vikings won a KVAC A game in South Paris.

Andrew Fleming added eight points and 14 rebounds for Oxford Hills (8-4).

Nick Mayo had 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead Messalonskee (8-4).

Maranacook 78, Leavitt 65: Taylor Wilbur scored a game-high 26 points and the Black Bears scored 31 points in the second quarter alone to cruise to the KVAC B win.

Kent Mohlar scored 13 points while Caleb Jackson added 11 for Maranacook (9-4). Brad Worster grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

Mitchell Davis and Eli Calder each scored 14 points to pace Leavitt (3-9).

HALL-DALE 59, MT. ABRAM 39: Wesley Lapointe had 10 points and 12 rebounds, including eight offensive, to lead the Bulldogs to the MVC win in Farmingdale.

Bryson Camp led Hall-Dale (8-5) in scoring with 15 while Brian Allen added 12 points and nine rebounds. Nat Crocker chipped in with nine points and eight assists.

Mt. Abram (1-11) was led by Tristan Dyer with 13 points and Amos Withee with 12.
