BIDDEFORD — Jamie Wallace sank a jump shot with less than a minute to play to break a tie game and lift the Colby women’s basketball team to a 54-53 win over the University of New England on Thursday at Harold Alfond Forum.
Waterville graduate Jen Nale sank a pair of free throws to help Colby (4-3) seal the win. Hall-Dale High School graduate Carylanne Wolfington scored 14 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the Mules.
Kelly Coleman had 19 points and 11 rebounds for UNE (4-3).
Men’s basketball
Maine 97, Fisher 42: Alasdair Fraser had 13 points and 14 rebounds as the Black Bears won in Orono.
Xavier Pollard led the Black Bears with 14 points, while Zarko Valjarevic had 14 and Justin Edwards added 12. Shawn Lawton had eight assists for Maine (2-5).
Sam Nwadike had eight points and Tyler Shular seven for Fisher (4-5).
