READFIELD — Christine Miller had 14 points and eight rebounds, while Jessie Smith had 13 points and eight rebounds as the Maranacook Community High School girls basketball team beat Lincoln Academy 45-38 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Tuesday.

Mariah Vining added nine points for Maranacook (6-5).

Leslie Sandefur and Danielle Pinkham had seven each for Lincoln (3-7).

Gardiner 47, MCI 12: Kelly Macomber had 11 points as the Tigers beat the Huskies in a KVAC B game in Pittsfield.
 

Kylee Granholm added 10 points and nine steals for Gardiner (7-3).

MCI falls to 0-11.

Boys basketball

MCI 48, Gardiner 45, OT: Mitchell Hallee scored 14 points and the Huskies outscored the Tigers 5-2 in overtime to earn a KVAC B win in Gardiner.

Doug Bryant added 10 points for MCI (5-6).

Tyler Jamison had a game-high 23 points, to go along with five rebounds and four assists for Gardiner (3-7).

Dennis Meehan added six points, nine rebounds, three assists and four steals.

Wiscasset 69, Hall-Dale 64: Wiscasset held of a Hall-Dale comeback in the fourth quarter to post the Mountain Valley Conference win in Farmingdale.

Austin Haskell led the winners with 22 points while Chandler Longfellow scored 16 and Travis Padilla 15.

Mike Woods led Hall-Dale with 27 points while teammate Wesley Lapointe scored 16. Both teams are 6-4.

Boothbay 59, Monmouth 46: Anthony Dimauro had 19 points as the Seahawks beat the Mustangs in an MVC game in Monmouth.

John Hepburn added 13 points for Boothbay (10-1).

Brandon Goff had 16 points and Bill Cummings 13 for Monmouth (4-6).

Richmond 44, Rangeley 22: The Bobcats pulled away in the fourth quarter en route to the East/West Conference win.

Cameron Emmons led Richmond with 10 points while Eddie Stewart scored nine.
Michale Haley paced rangeley with nine points. Richmond is 5-7, Rangeley is 1-7.

Men’s basketball

UM-Farmington 66, Bowdoin 62: The Beavers beat the Polar Bears for the first time since 1999, Tuesday night in Farmington.

Maranacook Community High School graduate Ben Johnson scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for UMF (11-3), which snapped a 15-game losing streak against Bowdoin.

Keegan Pieri had 15 points and six rebounds in the loss for Bowdoin (9-4). Andrew Madlinger added 14 and Lucas Hausman had 13.

Women’s hockey

Holy Cross 3, Colby 1: Katie Goguen scored two third-period goals to lift the Crusaders past the Mules in Waterville.

Nicole Giannino scored in the second period to give Holy Cross (10-4-1) a 1-0 lead.

Annie Papadellis scored from Kathryn Shei for Colby (5-9-0). Brianne Wheeler had 25 saves for the Mules.
