NORTH ANSON — The Hall-Dale boys soccer team scored two second half goals on their way to a 2-0 win against Carrabec in a Mountain Valley Conference match.
Josh Peterson scored three minutes into the second half with an assist from Brandyn Bechard for Hall-Dale (2-0-0). Nat Crocker scored 12 minutes later from Ryan Sinclair. Brian Allen stopped 11 shots for Hall-Dale.
Trent Richardson had 14 saves for Carrabec (0-1-1).
Winthrop 3, Telstar 0: Sebastian Petit had two goals and an assist to lead the Ramblers to the MVC win in Bethel.
Jacob Hickey scored a goal and added an assist for Winthrop (1-1-0). Matt Sekerak had 11 saves to earn the victory.
Bronson Dean had six saves for the Rebels (1-1-0).
Monmouth 2, Lisbon 0: Josh Reny scored in the first half and Kyle Fletcher in the second half as the Mustangs beat the Greyhounds in an MVC game in Monmouth.
Fletcher also had an assist for Monmouth, which improves to 2-0-0. Kasey Smith had 12 saves for the Mustangs.
Nick Bergeron had 11 saves for Lisbon (0-1-0).
Maranacook 5, Gardiner 0: Kent Mohlar scored four goals and Taylor Wilbur added another to lead the Black Bears in Gardiner.
Mohlar opened the scoring just 32 seconds off an assist from Alex Tooth and Maranacook (2-0-0) never looked back.
Alec Daigle and Hayden Elwell added assists while Brad Worster had three saves to earn the victory.
Kenneth Moore had four saves to pace Gardiner (0-2-0).
Girls soccer
Cony 4, Brewer 1: Emily Quirion scored three goals in the final 13 minutes of the first half as the Rams beat the Witches in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game in Brewer.
Bayleigh Logan also scored for Cony, which improves to 2-0-0. Hayley Quirion, Olivia Deeves and Annie Brannigan each had an assist. Autumn Sudsbury stopped nine shots for the Rams.
Gretchen Wright scored from Hannah Laskey for Brewer (0-1-1). Ellie Leighton stopped 20 shots for the Witches.
Field hockey
Gardiner 3, Oceanside 1: The Tigers scored three straight goals to recover from an early deficit and beat the Mariners in Gardiner.
Rebecca Anderson scored early in the first half to give Oceanside (2-1-0). Lily Chepke scored about a minute later to tie it for Gardiner (2-1-0) and Nickyia Lovely scored with an assist from Madeline Reny to give Gardiner the lead. Chepke added a goal in the second half, her fourth of the season, with assists from Ellen Kelley and Abby Dunn.
Emalee Couture had eight saves for Gardiner, while Zoe Billington had eight for Oceanside.
Lawrence 2, Cony 0: Lauren Watson scored a goal in each half and Emily Tozier stopped the only shot she faced to lead the Bulldogs to the Eastern A victory in Augusta.
Alexis Chamberlain and McKenna Rogers each had assists for Lawrence (2-1).
Lindsay Lapierre had 12 saves to pace Cony (2-1).
Waterville 0, Erskine 0, 2 OT: The Eagles and visiting Purple Panthers battled to a draw in South China.
Waterville’s Rachael Bergeron made 12 saves, including one that deflected off her pads and out of bounds in the first overtime. Alexis Soucy had eight saves for Erskine. Waterville coach Amie Dubois said both overtimes were filled with up-and-down action.
“Both teams were exhausted,” Dubois said.
Men’s soccer
Colby 4, Husson 1: Chris Pratt and Keith Chernin both had two assists as the Mules beat the Eagles in a non-conference game in Waterville.
Andrew Wooton, Charlie Dupee and Jon Stronach scored in the first half as the Mules (1-1-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Husson (0-4-1) scored on an own goal to cut it to 3-1 in the second half, but Jonathan Sommer scored later in the second to give Colby an insurance goal.
Steve Paquette had nines aves for Husson, while Peter Quayle had four saves for Colby.
Women’s soccer
St. Joseph’s 2, UM-Farmington 0: Lauren Chouinard and Danielle Daigle both scored goals as the Monks beat the Beavers in a non-conference game in Standish.
Beth Lebel had seven saves for UMF (0-2-1). Jaci Lorenzen had four saves for St. Joe’s (3-1-0).
College field hockey
Colby 5, UNE 0: Caitlin Murray had three assists, while teammate Erin Maguire had a goal and two assists as the Mules cruised to a non-conference win in Waterville.
Maguire and Caroline Ferguson scored in the first half to give Colby (2-0-0) a 2-0 lead. Misha Strage, Natalie Fischer and Caitlin Guiney all scored in the second half for the Mules. Sarah Evans made four saves for Colby, which has yet to allow a goal this season.
Holly Smith had three saves and Molly Linscott had six saves for UNE.
