BINGHAM — The Richmond softball team remained unbeaten in East/West Con-ference play with a 14-2 and 18-0 doubleheader sweep over Valley on Thursday afternoon. Both games were called after five innings due to the mercy rule.

Jamie Plummer picked up both pitching victories, allowing six hits in the first game and only three in the second game.

Payton Johnson led the Bobcats with four singles in Game 1 while Plummer had three hits, Kelsie Obi a single and triple and Andra Meagher two singles.

Teagan Laweryson and Kyla White had two hits apiece for Valley.

 Kalah Patterson doubled and singled twice for the Bobcats in Game 2 while Sydney Coate added three hits and Alyssa Pearson and Kelsey Anair two each.

Richmond is 5-0, Valley is 0-4.

Baseball

Valley 7-7, Richmond 5-1: Cody Laweryson and Seth Malloy picked up pitching wins as the Cavaliers won the East/West Conference doubleheader. Laweryson struck out six and didn’t issue a walk in Game 1. Dylan Belanger led the Cavaliers with three hits while Seth Malloy and Luke Malloy added two apiece. For Richmond, Randy Moody doubled and singled and Cam Emmons singled twice.

 Malloy held the Bobcats to three hits in Game 2. He also contributed two singles along with Tyler Soucy. Valley is 4-0, Richmond is 2-2.

Forest Hills 10-17, GPC 0-0: Matt Turner and Nathan Jalbert led the Tigers to the Class D sweep in Jackman. Turner pitched a six-inning no-hitter and struck out 15 in Game 1. He also contributed a double and a single while Jalbert singled three times. Jalbert pitched a one-hitter over five innings in Game 2, striking out 10 and walking two. Jalbert, Turner and Forrest Griffin each had two hits for Forrest Hills (6-1). Greater Portland Christian is 0-3.
