OXFORD — Shawn Martin of Turner made his first start in an Oxford Championship Series Por Late Model a successful on Sunday, claiming the 40-lap feature race.

Gary Chiasson of Peru finished second while newcomer Kevin Douglas of Sidney finished third in just his second start. TJ Brackett and Donnie Wentworth rounded out the top five.

Skip Tripp of Poland won the 30-lap Street Stock feature with Brownfield’s Matt Williams second Dixfield’s Ryan Roberts third. Lisbon’s Nik Coates won the 30-lap Mini Stock division race followed by Turner’s Calvin Rose and Jay’s Shane Kaherl.

Lewiston’s Corey Morgan won the 25-lap Outlaw Sportsman event with Guy Childs of Turner second and Kyle Hewins of Leeds third.

American Canadian Tour

WEST Haven, Vt. — Reigning American Canadian tour champion Wayne Helliwell Jr. of Dover, N.H. took his second victory in a row in the Spring Green 113, edging Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt. by .02 seconds.

Beech Ridge

SCARBOROUGH — Fourteen year old Reid Lanpher of Manchester finished 23rd in the PAS North Series Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep 150 on Saturday to become the youngest driver ever to qualify for a PASS North Series race at Beech Ridge and the youngest to veer lead laps in a series event. Lanpher won his first-round qualifying race and started third in the 28-car field. He took the lead on Lap 5 and held it until Lap 36 until he had a flat tire. Lanpher’s day ended on Lap 120 when he was involved in an incident on the backstretch and hit hard into the wall.
