HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Carter lifts Winthrop boys basketball past Oak Hill

Hickey chips in 15 points for Ramblers.


WINTHROP — Dakota Carter had 13 points, nine rebounds and four steals as the Winthrop boys basketball team beat Oak Hill 78-43 in a Mountain Valley Conference game Monday evening.

Jacob Hickey led the Ramblers (10-2) with 15 points, while Zach Steele added 13 points and Taylor Morang chipped in with 10 assists, eight steals and two rebounds.

Derek Gamage had nine rebounds for Oak Hill (3-7).

LISBON 39, HALL-DALE 36: Brian Allen scored a game-high 10 points, but it wasn’t enough for the Bulldogs, who lost to the Greyhounds in Lisbon.

Alex McPherson and Brandon Bechard each scored six points for Hall-Dale (7-4).

Kendall Roy led Lisbon (6-5) with nine points, while Tucker Brannon and Johnny Yin each added six points.

LEAVITT 53, ERSKINE 34: Mikhel Davis scored 13 points to lead the Hornets past the Eagles in South China.

Zac Gaulette added 10 points for Leavitt (3-7).

Jared Gartley led Erskine (0-9) with 16 points. Austin Johnson added six points.


Messalonskee 57, Hampden 50: The Eagles jumped out to a 13-5 lead in the first quarter and beat the Broncos in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game in Hampden.

Sophie Holmes had 19 points and Kassi Michaud 10 for Messalonskee (8-3).

Erica Meehan had 21 points for Hampden (2-8).

LEAVITT 53, ERSKINE 40: The Hornets pulled away in the fourth quarter on their way to the KVAC Class B win in Turner, Meagan Dow led the winners with 22 points while Chantel Eells scored 11. Mallory Chamberlain led the Eagles with nine points. Leavitt is 3-6, Erskine is 1-8.

OAK HILL 54, WINTHROP 13: Meagan Crosby had 10 points as the Raiders beat the Ramblers in an MVC game in Winthrop.

Haley Marshall, Toni Hart and Iris Abbott each added six points for Oak Hill (8-3).

Alyssa Arsenault had five points for Winthrop (0-12).
