AUGUSTA — Walker Cooper scored 17 points and grabbed nine re-bounds to lead the Cony High School boys basketball team past Mt. Ararat 63-49 in an Eastern A game Thursday night.
Zack Lachance scored 15 points and Josiah Hayward added 11 for the Rams (6-10), who led 24-18 at the half before pulling away. Ben Lucas added seven points and seven rebounds for Cony.
Josh Wright led Mt. Ararat (2-14) with 12 points.
Spruce Mountain 59, Winthrop 29: Tyler Gervais led a balanced attack as the Phoenix won the Mountain Valley Conference game in Winthrop.
Scotty Hall added eight points for Spruce Mountain (15-1) while Nate Shrink had seven.
Winthrop (2-13) was led by Taylor Morang with eight points and Matt Sekerak with seven.
