Celtics' Big 3 still have life in those old bones

The Associated Press

ATLANTA — Boston's Big Three still has some life in those old bones.

Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen have led the Celtics to a commanding 3-1 lead over the Hawks. Game 5 is Tuesday night in Atlanta, with Boston looking to wrap up the series after a 22-point blowout that wasn't really that close.

The Big Three led the Celtics to their last NBA championship in 2008, and this could be their last hurrah. The Hawks know what they're up against, facing an experienced team with a trio of aging stars who clearly have something to prove.

Plenty of skeptics figured Boston was done early in the season. But the Celtics closed on a 24-10 run that carried right into the playoffs, most impressively with a 101-79 rout Sunday night.
