KENTS HILL — Jason LaPorte scored two goals in the final four minutes of the third period — his first goals of the season — and the Maranacook/Hall-Dale/Winthrop co-operative hockey team edged Gray-New Gloucester/Poland 4-3 on Monday at Bonnefond Ice Arena.
“I was like, ‘Oh, man, when am I going to score?’ ” the MHW senior forward said. “I knew sooner or later it would happen, though.”
It did, and the Hawks (8-4-0) inched closer to an Eastern A playoff berth because of it.
Dan Condon and Nick Lacasse also scored for MHW, which outshot GNG (2-9-0) 34-16.
Ethan Callier, Adam Healy and Evan Baggs scored for the Patriotic Knights.
