WATERVILLE — Award-winning actor, songwriter, and producer Keith Carradine will be honored at the 2013 Maine International Film Festival with the Mid-Life Achievement Award.
Carradine won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Original Song for his song “I’m Easy” in the film “Nashville.” It will be screened when the festival presents its award to Carradine July 15 in the Waterville Opera House, according to a press release from Shannon Haines, executive director of the Maine Film Center, which organizes the Waterville festival.

Each year the festival honors someone who has made significant contributions to the art of cinema.
Along with his work in “Nashville,” Carradine is best known for his role in the films “McCabe & Mrs. Miller” and “Thieves Like Us.”
He won a Primetime Emmy Award winner for the CBS series “Chiefs.”
“I’m Easy” also earned him an Grammy nomination.
This year, he also was nominated for a Tony for his role in the musical “Hands on a Hard Body.”
In 2013, Carradine starred in “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints,” which received the award for best cinematography at the Sundance Film Festival and will be featured at this year’s festival. Carradine has also recently starred in ABC’s sitcom “Complete Savages,” and played Wild Bill Hickock in HBO’s “Deadwood.”
In 2005, Carradine starred on the stage as George W. Bush in David Hare’s satire “Stuff Happens.”
The 16th annual Maine International Film Festival will be July 12-21 at Railroad Square Cinema and the Waterville Opera House.
