Photographer Ann Flewelling of Sedgwick has just released "A Moment of Water: Journey by Maine Watershed" (2012, Threehalf Press). She will launch the book in a program at the Blue Hill Public Library on April 19 at 7 p.m.
The book explores water, using photographic narrative and journal notes to describe Maine's watershed. Celebrating the beauty of these landscapes, the book highlights ongoing efforts of conservation organizations to protect these natural places, as stated in a news release.
The program will feature a narrated video created by the author, based on the Downeast portion of the book, with accompanying sounds from the Bagaduce Watershed. This event is co-sponsored by the Blue Hill Public Library and the Bagaduce Watershed Association. Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase.
Flewelling's photography has previously appeared in "Shared Light on Penobscot Bay," "Beads & String: A Maine island pilgrimage," "Shore Lines" and "Island Meditation."
The Natural Resources Council of Maine will feature images from "A Moment of Water" in their lobby gallery this spring.Tweet
