AUGUSTA — Maine Gov. Paul LePage will officially announce his re-election bid early next month.

The GOP governor will hold a campaign launch event Nov. 5 at the Buker Community Center in Augusta.

The event is one year before the day voters will head to the polls in 2014 to decide the three way race in Maine.

Democratic U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud and Independent candidate Eliot Culter have both already officially launched their bids for governor. Cutler lost to LePage by less than 2 percentage points in 2010.

LePage’s campaign staff says the governor can be expected to tout his accomplishments, such as paying the debt owed to the state’s hospitals and helping combat domestic violence. He will also lay out what work he believes is left to be done in Maine.
