After reading many documented reports about the possible health and safety issues concerning wireless “smart meters,” I am very concerned, and extremely worried, for the wellbeing of us all.

As I am writing this, my great-grandson is playing on the floor in front of me, and it makes me wonder how these smart meters will affect him over time.

Smart meters transmit intense bursts of radio frequency signals back and forth among homes, making it impossible to avoid electromagnetic fields within our homes and also impossible to avoid them when we are outside our homes — simply walking for exercise or working on our lawns.

Radio frequency radiation has been documented to have biological effects on living tissue and has been classified as a “possible human carcinogen” by the World Health Organization.

I think all people in Maine should consider saying “no” to having smart meters installed on their homes.
