Letter to the Editor
I'd like to endorse Earle McCormick's bid to serve as a selectman in West Gardiner, where I manage property that my family owns.
In a day when the average kindergartner is likely to have a website, McCormick suggests that West Gardiner have one, too.
An engaging, informative website is valuable tool, but prudent and formidable leadership is even more essential -- and a prerequisite.
It sounds to me like it's time for a change in West Gardiner. Years ago, when my grandsons were infants, I'd change them once in a while, and they are better young men today for the effort. There's an analogy there.
The old adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," sounds as reasonable as it is archaic and counter-productive. I believe in imagination and the propensity we have to tinker with things in an effort make them work better and more efficiently.
That'd certainly be the leadership I'd line up with, and I encourage West Gardiner voters to line up with McCormick.
