Tuesday, Nov. 8, Maine voters have a chance to confirm their approval and support of a legislative action this last session to protect the integrity of the voting process.
I have read letter after letter by readers claiming there is no fraud and abuse in the system.
Despite denials, however, 93 percent of all U.S. citizens have to register in advance of election day.
Of registrations that the secretary of state recently reviewed, there is an 85 percent error rate in voter registrations: 1,452 active registrants are listed as being 211 years old, and 178,000 registered voters are shown to have registered to vote on Jan. 1, 1850. These are just a few of the findings of the investigation.
Truth must prevail in all media. Opponents of this law are trying to scare young and elderly voters, when in actuality the law protects their right to vote. Overturning the law would disenfranchise them.
Please vote no on Question 1.
