Several well-placed comments have been in your paper regarding cruelly caged, egg-laying chickens. I would like to add my congratulations to those who wrote in their defense.
Cages with four hens so closely contained they can not stretch their necks or fully extend their wings ... how can we allow such abusiveness to occur daily?
I grew up on free range chicken eggs and still get excited about seeing hens enjoying the fresh air outdoors and ranging "free."
Now I intend to boycott those cruel, egg-manufacturing plants.
As a society, we work hard to protect our children, the elderly, and those who are challenged. Let's extend that same compassion to those creatures that make our lives better. Buy eggs from those "Home on the Range."
