It's clear -- Republican politicians would rather see the president fail than put Americans back to work.
I think we've made it clear. We've had enough of politics. We are looking for our leaders to create jobs now.
That's why President Barack Obama created his American Jobs Act. The proposal is full of practical ideas that both parties already have supported, such as putting Americans to work right away in jobs to fix our crumbling roads, bridges and schools.
President Obama's Jobs Act isn't playing to his base or pandering to his supporters. It's focused on doing what's right and best for the American people, which is exactly what all politicians should be focused on in Washington.
It's just common sense. With more dollars in the pockets of middle-class Americans, our businesses will have more customers -- and that means more private-sector hiring.
But Republican politicians have admitted over and over that they'd rather see the president fail than help Americans succeed, even if that means opposing their own ideas. So now they're standing in the way.
It's time to put helping Americans ahead of hurting the president politically. Congress must pass the president's jobs bill now.
