We don’t need poet’s words, we need, and have, LePage

Thanks for the letter by Deb Soifer of South China (Jan. 13), who has informed us about the latest egregious action by Gov. Paul LePage. This exposé is the latest in a litany of misconduct that started even before the oath of office was administered.

This latest inexcusable error — brace yourself, my friends: No poetry was read at the Inauguration and the theme was 10 two-letter words (If it is to be, it is up to us)! Honest!

I also have it on good authority that there was no goose pâté or canapés with Brie at the inaugural banquet, perish the thought!

One can almost hear Thurston Howell III say: “Lovey, what are all of those people doing here?”

A common man speaking in a common-sense manner and actually saying what he means, doing what he says for all to hear and understand is not politics as usual.

But it is inspiring enough for us rubes. We don’t need a poet laureate’s words. We need action and deeds. We need, and have, Gov. Paul LePage.
