Letter: Peter Mills ‘not prone to ideological culture wars’

I would like to announce my support for state Sen. Peter Mills.
A native of Farmington, Mills served honorably in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1970. Graduating second in the Maine Law School class of 1973, he has been the manager of his own law firm since 1982.
Mills has served the people of Maine in the state Legislature since 1996, participating in and chairing a host of committees. His fiscally conservative principles are highlighted by his 1999 campaign with the Labor Committee to overhaul Maine’s dubious unemployment compensation system, among several other initiatives.
Mills is a fiscally conservative, socially moderate Yankee Republican who is not prone to ideological culture wars.
He believes in a healthy balance between economic development and environmental conservation. Republican success in Maine depends on crossover appeal, and I know Mills is that candidate.
Please visit his Web site at www.millsformaine.com.

His principles allowed him to support tax cuts for the wealthy; LD1495?

It is easy not to be prone to culture wars when you have no morale compass and will say anything to get elected.

Pro, I feel Steve is quite thankful to not have the support of people like you. You epitomize everything he has worked to get rid of in Maine.

It's amazing to think that there are fruit***** like "proconserv" floating around. I think that Barry Goldwater would tell "proconserv" that he is clueless about what conservatism means and probably defective in other ways, to be kind. Goldwater said of gays in the military that it didn't matter as long as they could shoot straight. "proconserv" is evidence that fruit***** gravitate to the Republi-CON party.

Paul LePage would be a better choice.

Paul Lepage can't win. The fact that he doesn't know is among the reasons why he hasn't a chance.

Mill's resume is very similar the the lame duck that has held Maine tax payers hostage for the past 8 years. We don't need another RINO in Maine politics.

No wonder the Republican party can't even contribute positively to the health care debate, or function in any positive way, given that ignorant buffoons like RedSox are its "base." Sick. The most ignorant, petulant and clueless of American society are shaping one of its two "parties."

The difference "sox" is that I'm dealing with facts and reality, you're playing a Rush Limbaugh game of fantasy. If you were brighter you'd have long since learned there's a difference between ignorant right wing fantasies and facts based in reality. Learn the difference. Well, you won't ... if you were capable you wouldn't be an ignorant Republican.
