The government wants our childrens’ Social Security numbers so they can track our students after high school and then judge the public school system they attended. As a third-generation educator, I know first-hand how hard we work to make education strong, but it is by leaps and bounds that the family dynamic has the most influence.
The encouragement, support and love that a child finds at home has the strongest impact on a child’s success both during and after high school.
As we head back to school, give your child that encouragement and be a partner in their education. (And my child’s Social Security number is staying securely at home).
