Let's hold hands and jump off the 'fiscal cliff' together

Letter to the Editor

Like the little girl who was "... sick and tired of hearing about Bronco Bama and Mitt Romney," I'm tired of hearing about the "fiscal cliff."

Let's just let it happen. At midnight on Dec. 31, the Bush tax cuts will expire automatically for everyone, including the 2 percent "earning" more than $250,000 a year -- which, by the way, is $5,000 per week (hard to feel sorry for those folks).

On Jan. 1, Barack Obama can introduce legislation to revert to the former tax rates for the remaining 98 percent of us. The Republicans would not dare to defeat this.

Let's also let "sequestration" happen. What better way to finally see our defense budget cut by half a trillion dollars.

We still will be spending more on defense than the rest of the world combined. So, let's all get together now, hold hands and juuummmppp!
