Engineer of wood smoke? Really?

This letter is in response to Ernest Grolimund's letter (Kennebec Journal, Nov. 7). I haven't heard such drivel for a long time.

He's an engineer of wood smoke. Just what school did he go to to get that degree?

I've burned wood ever since I was a kid, and I don't know anyone who has gone into convulsions breathing the air where people are burning wood.

Maybe if Grolimund didn't stick his nose down the chimney he wouldn't cough. I think maybe he's one of those folks who complains about anything or anyone. He's in Maine, so why doesn't he try to get along with people who are trying to save money, and quit protesting the fact that wood is a safe and cheap way to heat your home, plus it's not a fossil fuel.
