Where was the Kennebec Journal during the four Chizzle Wizzle performances, March 20-24?
In vain, I looked for coverage of this wondrous event. This 121-year-old minstrel/olio deserves better from the local paper.
With so much bad news dominating the media, the public needs some good news, and Chizzle Wizzle is very good news.
Just think of its history. For well over a century, hundreds of Cony High School students, staff, faculty and local merchants have dedicated themselves for hundreds of hours to put on the four-night show.
So much talent, so much enthusiasm, so much hard work and practice are involved.
If the KJ had covered the first night's performance, as it has in other years, perhaps the auditorium would have been even more filled, and more citizens of the Augusta area would have shared this uplifting experience.
In any case, kudos to the Cony community. All of you make early spring something to anticipate.
