Letter to the Editor
I am voting for Republican Darrick Banda as the next district attorney for Kennebec and Somerset counties.
Banda became an assistant district attorney in Kennebec County more than 10 years ago, and he quickly earned a reputation as being honest and fair, and a superb litigator.
I was pleased to learn recently that Banda is endorsed by the Maine State Troopers Association. Additionally, many Democrats are crossing party lines to support Banda as the next district attorney, including David Crook (our former district attorney), police officers, past and current members of the District Attorney's Offices.
Banda has practiced law exclusively in Maine, and he has tried serious criminal cases for more than 10 years. The same cannot be said about Banda's opponent, Maeghan Maloney. I encourage others to join me in voting for Banda as the next district attorney.
