JEFFERSON -- Police charged a local woman was with driving with a suspended license Saturday after she crashed her Cadillac on Washington Road.

Regina Stewart, 25, of Jefferson, was issued a summons charging her with operating after suspension.

Stewart was driving her 2003 Cadillac CTS east on Washington Road when it skidded out of control at the Village Street intersection, according a release from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. The Cadillac crossed the center line and went off the road, striking a tree and causing significant passenger-side damage. The Cadillac came to a stop in the middle of the road.

Police said the crash was caused by excessive speed.

TUESDAY

At 7:11 a.m., firefighters responded to an alarm at the Harold Alfond Cancer Center on Old Belgrade Road.

9:40 a.m., there was an accident on Water Street.

11:06 a.m., a person at the Augusta Police Department on Union Street reported fraud.

11:14 a.m., there was an accident on Parkwood Drive.

11:20 a.m., theft was reported at the Margaret Chase Smith House on Ridge Road.

2:22 p.m., there was a hit-and-run accident on East Chestnut Street.

3:38 p.m., there was a hit-and-run accident on Water Street.

4:04 p.m., theft was reported on Mount Vernon Avenue.

4:07 p.m., threatening was reported on Mechanic Street.

7:47 p.m., threatening was reported on Capen Road.

At 4:36 p.m., an assault was reported on Blueberry Hill Lane.

7:40 p.m., there was an accident on Brunswick Avenue.

7:52 p.m., theft was reported on Spring Street.

At 12:34 a.m., threatening was reported on Spring Street.

3 a.m., a burglar alarm sounded on Water Street.

4:24 p.m., there was a report of recent burglary on Spring Street.

5:51 p.m., threatening was reported on Summer Street.

9:31 p.m., suspicious activity was reported on Spring Street.

At 3:32 p.m., theft was reported at a Bridge Street store.

6:41 p.m., there was an accident on Brunswick Avenue.

9:46 p.m., a burglar alarm sounded at a Enterprise Avenue business.

JEFFERSON

THURSDAY

A 1996 Jeep Cherokee being driven on snow-covered Augusta Road by a 55-year-old Waldoboro woman slid out of control while going down a hill. The Jeep ran off the road and hit a bridge guardrail.

FRIDAY

A 1999 Buick being driven north on Bunker Hill Road by an 18-year-old Jefferson woman spun out of control and hit a tree.

TUESDAY

A 2009 Dodge Journey being driven on Bunker Hill Road by a 60-year-old Bristol man slid out of the control when the driver attempted to avoid a deer standing in the road. The Dodge hit an embankment, a tree and a rock.
