AUGUSTA -- Farms throughout the state are inviting the public to take barn tours and sample their crops at the 21st Open Farm Day on Sunday.
Visiting hours for most farms will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some farms will have longer hours for special events, such as milking demonstrations.
There will be farm-raised products for sale, hay rides and petting zoos.
The event is organized by the Maine Department of Agriculture, the Soil and Water Conservation District and Cooperative Extension Offices in each county.
