MANCHESTER, N.H. — Police in Manchester, N.H., say a woman rocking her baby to sleep was startled when a woman she didn’t know walked into her home, sat in a rocking chair and fell asleep.
Stephanie Razor said the woman entered her apartment at about 3 a.m. Tuesday as she was rocking her 5-month-old daughter on the living room couch.
“So the person just settled down on the rocking chair like it was their own house, and I waited,” Razor told WMUR-TV.
Razor ran into her bedroom to wake up her husband, Andrew. The couple saw that the woman, identified as 24-year-old Jessica Cooper, was asleep, left the apartment and called police.
Police said Cooper is homeless and sought refuge inside the apartment, thinking it was vacant. She was charged with criminal trespassing.
“It really threw me off. Who comes into a house and kind of sits down and makes themselves comfortable? It baffles me, really,” Andrew Razor said.
The couple said they plan to get new locks on their door.
