AUGUSTA — Maine’s Volunteer Lawyers Project is offering free legal informational clinics at libraries around the state.
The first clinic will focus on family law court processes and will take place at the Maine State Library in Augusta. The event begins at 6 p.m. on Oct. 16.
The presentation by family law attorney Kim Pittman will be streamed live to participating libraries around the state. The clinics will also be recorded.
The project, which has the support of the Maine Regional Library System, will cover different areas of civil law.
Live computer-based appointments for low-income rural Mainers will be available starting in the spring.
