The fair is an opportunity to preview the products available in their areas this year.
Central Maine fairs are from 1 to 4 p.m. and in the following locations:
* Farmington at the Fairbanks Neighborhood School, 508 Fairbanks Road;
* Waterville, at Barrels Community Market at 74 Main St.; and
* Hallowell, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church at 18 Union St.
Buying a Community Supported Agriculture share entitles customers to weekly or monthly baskets of produce, flowers, fruits, eggs, milk, meats or other farm products, depending on the specific farm, according to a press release from the Western Mountains Alliance.
Visitors at the fair can get acquainted with local seasonal foods, buy a share in a farm's weekly harvest, and meet the producers.
The statewide events are also sponsored by the Maine Council of Churches.
For information or for farms interested in participating in the Farmington event, contact the Western Mountains Alliance at 778-3885 or info@westernmountainsalliance.org.
For more information on CSA Fairs statewide, contact MOFGA's organic marketing coordinator Melissa White Pillsbury at 568-4142 or melissa@mofga.org.
