Jazz on Tour ensemble performs at Lithgow Library Tuesday
AUGUSTA -- The University of Maine at Augusta Jazz on Tour ensemble will give a concert at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Reading Room at Lithgow Public Library, 45 Winthrop St.
Its repertoire includes a mix of jazz standards and originals and pop and rock arrangements. Members include Steve Perry on saxophone; Rurik Brackett, guitar; Darren Hicks, bass; Jesse Feinberg, piano; Steve Grover, the group's director, on drums; and guest singers Dorie Barnes, Brittany Yorks and Christine McCullough.

Lighthouse book subject of talk
AUGUSTA -- Richard Cheek will discuss his book "From Guiding Lights to Beacons for Business: The Many Lives of Maine's Lighthouses" at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 9 Summer St.
Presented by the Kennebec Historical Society, Cheek's talk will include a PowerPoint presentation of illustrations. The book explores the lives and legends of lighthouse keepers, tales of maritime disasters and lighthouse architecture and preservation, according to a news release from the historical society.
Cheek also will sign copies of the book, which will be for sale at the event.
