A year later, Maine woman's death declared homicide

Samantha Folsom, 26, was found dead in the closet of her apartment on Nov. 9, 2011.

LEWISTON — Investigators say the death of a 26-year-old woman found inside a closet in her apartment a year ago in Lewiston has been ruled a homicide.

Samantha Folsom was found dead inside her third-floor Oxford Street apartment on Nov. 9, 2011, by her parents who went to check on her.

WMTW-TV reported Thursday that her death is now considered a homicide. The cause of death has not been released.

Police say Folsom was originally from Greene and was unemployed at the time of her death. All along, police considered her death suspicious.
