Wilton's Saviello holds large lead in Senate 18

With results in from all but two towns, incumbent Thomas Saviello, R-Wilton, led Joanne Dunlap, D-Rangeley, by a 12,148 to 7,501 vote in the race for Senate District 18.


Only results from New Vineyard and Dallas Plantation were unavailable Wednesday from the more than 30 communities in the district, which is among the largest legislative areas in the state.


Saviello won in most of the communities, including Belgrade with a 972-804 vote, in Farmington 2,329 to 1,408 and in Wilton 1,663 to 584.
Saviello, 62, said it will be important for the next legislators evaluate what was passed in the last session.
