Late tourney basketball games in Portland and Augusta postponed until Monday

Weather forces several changes to the high school tournament .

Weather is having an impact on the extensive postseason schedule in various high school sports around the state.

In Augusta, Saturday’s two late games in the Eastern Class A boys' basketball tournament were postponed to Monday. Messalonskee will play Edward Little at 8:30 a.m., and Hampden Academy faces Lewiston at 1 p.m.

At the Portland Expo, the two late Saturday games in the  Western Class A boys' basketball tournament were also been moved to Monday. Bonny Eagle will play Sanford at 10 a.m., and Falmouth plays Cheverus at 11:30 a.m.

The schedule for Monday at the Expo: 

Western A Boys

No. 3 Bonny Eagle vs. No. 6 Sanford, 10 a.m.

No. 2 Falmouth vs. No. 7 Cheverus, 11:30 a.m. 

Western A Girls

No. 3 South Portland vs. No. 6 Cheverus, 2 p.m.

No. 2 Thornton Academy vs. No. 7 Windham, 3:30 p.m. 

No. 4 Portland vs. No. 5 Gorham, 7 p.m.

No. 1 McAuley vs. No. 8 Deering, 8:30 p.m. 

The schedule at the Augusta Civic Center: 

Eastern A boys

No. 4 Messalonskee v. No. 5 Edward Little, 8:30 a.m.

No. 1 Hampden v. No. 8 Lewiston, 1 p.m. 

Western D girls

No. 3 Searsport v. No. 6 Richmond, 10 a.m.

No. 2 Rangeley v. No. 7 Valley, 11:30 a.m. 

Western C boys

No. 3 Waynflete v. No. 6 Monmouth, 2:30 p.m.

No. 2 Boothbay v. No. 7 Hall-Dale, 4 p.m.
