BANGOR — Police say two Canadian women have been hospitalized after being struck by a van in Bangor.
The women were struck at about 6 p.m. Sunday while crossing Hogan Road.
Police say 62-year-old Sandra Samuel of Lutes Mountain, New Brunswick, was taken to Eastern Maine Medical center where she was listed in critical condition on Monday morning.
Sixty-six-year-old Carole Day of Halifax, Nova Scotia was listed in fair condition.
The driver of the van was identified by authorities as by 83-year-old Martin Willis of Brewer. No charges are expected.
The victims were aided by at least four witnesses, including a nurse at a local hospital, before emergency crews arrived.
